For those of you who have never been to The Wall, try to make it. It's well worth the trip.

For those of you who can't make it, you can still get a little of the experience by visiting The Moving Wall, which tours the nation. Here's a link to their site:

The first and last photos were sent to me years ago by a couple of friends.

These pictures provided the impetus for me to make a pilgrimage to The Wall. For me, and for thousands like me, it was a supremely emotional thing. Like so many of us, I'd shut out the names of lost comrades. On that day, they came back to visit me as I looked at their names. I was, and still am, unashamed of the tears I was finally able to shed that day. After that, I was finally able to say "Yes, I'm a Viet Nam Veteran."
Welcome to The Wall.

This is a place with no political rhetoric. It is a place where I'm paying my own small tribute to the 58,000 comrades-in-arms who died in Viet Nam.

The following items were left at The Wall. They are collected by Park Rangers, and the Smithsonian Institute becomes the custodians of these items. Sadly, very few of these person tributes are available for viewing by the public.

These are just a few shots of the wall.
